Judge Leon Motte founded the school in Wilmington, North Carolina, in 1916. Initially it specialized in stenographic instruction. Since that time, Miller-Motte has continued to develop new programs and open new locations.
The Charleston Campus of Miller Motte Technical College opened in December 2000. Located at 8085 Rivers Avenue, Charleston, South Carolina, the facility has administrative offices, computer and medical labs, classrooms, a learning resource center, bookstore and student lounge. It is a modern state of the art facility in a closed campus environment. Plentiful free parking is located at the facility.
